LSI 9265-8i 6Gbps MegaRAID Card RAID 5 Tested! – AS SSD Testing

AS SSD BENCHMARK V.1.6

This is a straight no-cache run here, and the results are tremendous! The sequential writing speed is knocking at the door of the maximum write speed that is achievable with these drives.  The caching with the DDR3 definitely comes into play here. The scaling is absolutely superb considering the amount of computational overhead needed for the type of RAID we are using. Here the dual core aspect of the LSI2208 comes into play along with the DDR3 caching.

The AS SSD .ISO Test measures transfer/file copying speeds provided some excellent results:

blankAnd finally,  we will can show the speed with compressible data which is a new feature in AS SSD.

blankSome of these results are somewhat higher than with the RAID 0 and this has a lot to do with the fact that we are now using a 1gb DDR3 cache, as opposed to the 512 mb board that we were using previously, We will be doing a RAID 0 ‘refresh’ soon!
