ATTO DISK BENCHMARK 2.46
ATTO Disk Benchmark is perhaps one of the oldest benchmarks going and is definitely the main staple for manufacturer performance specifications. For our testing, we use a set length of 256mb and test both the read and write performance of various transfer sizes ranging from 0.5 to 8192kb. Manufacturers prefer this method of testing as it deals with raw data rather than random or mixed which, although more realistic, result with lower performance results.
ATTO shows a high of 559MB/s high sequential read and 473 high sequential write which is dead on for the reads and a bit lower for the writes although nothing to be concerned about whatsoever. An interesting thought with respect to these values is that the typical user will probably never even use this disk access method in their typical activity and tests have been conducted showing that it is used, in fact, under 0.5% of the time.

The chart was ordered with high sequential reads as a priority and I wouldn’t lay to much faith in the final standing just yet, however, we can see that the new SandForce controlled SSDs seem to own top spot by a margin.
