ATTO DISK BENCHMARK VER. 2.46
ATTO Disk Benchmark is perhaps one of the oldest benchmarks going and is definitely the main staple for manufacturer performance specifications. For our testing, we use a set length of 256mb and test both the read and write performance of various transfer sizes ranging from 0.5 to 8192kb. Manufacturers prefer this method of testing as it deals with raw data rather than random or mixed which, although more realistic, result with lower performance results.
ATTO results of 1.44GB/s and 1.2GB/ s are just about dead on the money…amazing speeds!
CRYSTAL DISK BENCHMARK VER. 3.0 X64
Crystal Disk Benchmark is used to measure read and write performance through sampling of raw (0/1 Fill) or random data. Many new SSD owners who cant wait to test the performance of their SSD often grab this program and run a quick test, not realizing that they are testing with random data, not RAW or 0Fill data as tested by manufacturers. The 0Fill result is on the left and random data result on the right.
Regardless of what method you use to test, these are the highest scores we have seen for a ‘prosumer’ drive. The all important 4k random write scores of 90MB/s are excellent as this disk access method will provide the most visible performance difference in things such as OS starting and application loading.
AS SSD BENCHMARK VER 1.64
AS SSD Disk Benchmark is perhaps the only benchmark program that was created for solid state drives. Take a look at the absolutely incredible max IOPS reached, this from a quick two minute test.
What impressed us most about these tests was that they were practically mirror results as that which we received when we tested at Computex on a totally separate system. For those believing that the scores reached by reviewers are done through tweaked systems and unattainable by the average enthusiast, let this be a prime example. OCZ did not know that we would be testing when we arrived and, in fact, this was pretty much the first such testing had ever been completed. Further, our Test Bench is undergoing changes and I can state that this system has its new ASRock Z68 Extreme 4 motherboard with absolutely no optimizations whatsoever, not even our own SSD Optimization Guide settings.
AS SSD COPY BENCHMARK
AS SSDs new Copy Benchmark is an excellent test of comparison as it simply tests the speeds reached in transfer of applications, ISO and gaming and provides the speed and time the transfer took in result. Lets compare the Revo 3X2 to our top ranking SSD, the OCZ Vertex 3, just to establish a SSD to PCIe comparison.
We can’t wait to show you the Vantage comparisons!
