LAPTOP BENCHMARK ANALYSIS

The highest temperature that the XPG GAMMIX S70 Blade NVMe SSD ever reached during any of our testing, in or out of the laptop, was 56°C as shown in this Crystal DiskInfo result above.  That makes this SSD the coolest Gen 4 SSD that we have tested, and likely the coolest available on the market to date.  In checking over the benchmarks, the overall results are very strong, but there are some peculiarities that should be noted.

First off, write performance is still lower than that tested in our Test Bench which is pretty consistent across the board, along with the fact that read and write IOPS are also much lower than listed spec.  Overall, all benchmarks are expected to be somewhat lower in comparison and they are.  That’s just the makeup of a full sized CPU such as the Intel Core i9-11900 compared to the 11th Gen Intel Core i7- 1165G7 found in our Dell Inspiron.

There is an oddity, however.  Low 4K read and write performance in the laptop is 92MB/s read and 272MB/s write while those same metrics in the desktop were lower at 85MB/s read and 227MB/s write.

Is better tan the gammix S70 for 176 nand layer? Or they updated the 2 models?
