3D MARK STORAGE GAMING BENCHMARK
UL Solutions has created a new storage gaming benchmark that we will start to use as new SSDs come in. The 3DMark Storage Benchmark DLC extends 3DMark Advanced Edition with a dedicated component test for measuring the gaming performance of SSDs and other storage hardware. It supports all the latest storage technologies and tests practical, real-world gaming performance for activities such as loading games, saving progress, installing game files, and recording gameplay video streams.
The Crucial P310 placed 10th in all SSDs tested in 3DMark to date.
REPORT ANALYSIS AND FINAL THOUGHTS
If we were to question anyone, I don’t believe there would be a single person believing that a DRAMless QLC SSD could push out one of the quickest game loading times in any test bench. There is a key here wand we don’t find it in high sequential data transfer. We find it in highs of 115MB/s low 4k random data read and 468MB/s low 4K random data write speeds. The industry has been fooling you but that could only be expected. We buy things based on high numbers rather than the true performance variables. SSDs are a perfect example of that and the P310 screams of great performance where it counts. Take a look at our True Data Transfer Testing.
Our report started with three variables that account for SSD success; price, performance and capacity. The Crucial P310 is a Gen 4 SSD that displays 7GB/s data transfer speeds with capacities up to 2TB and that 2TB has an MSRP price point of $150. Crucial has hit all the key points here but that’s not all. The P310 comes with a 5-year limited warranty and free downloads of their own Crucial Storage Executive and Acronis True Image for Crucial.
