3D MARK STORAGE GAMING BENCHMARK
UL Solutions has created a new storage gaming benchmark that we will start to use as new SSDs come in. The 3DMark Storage Benchmark DLC extends 3DMark Advanced Edition with a dedicated component test for measuring the gaming performance of SSDs and other storage hardware. It supports all the latest storage technologies and tests practical, real-world gaming performance for activities such as loading games, saving progress, installing game files, and recording gameplay video streams.
REPORT ANALYSIS AND FINAL THOUGHTS
With PCIe 5.0 SSDs becoming mainstream and following the success of PCIe 4.0 SSDs, we seem to overlook those value-centric SSDs that truly suit the majority of PC users today. The Corsair Core XT SSD is a 4-channel NVMe SSD that uses QLC memory and it pulls it off very well. It’s performance is right up there at 5GB/s and just under 1 million IOPS and it did show well in our true data testing regimen which has proven to be very consistent over countless tests.
The MP600 Core XT has performance. It doesn’t have the heat concerns that necessitate a heatsink as we have seen with just about every other Gen 4 and 5 SSD. It has a 5-year warranty and it has a great price point with the 2TB version we tested coming in at just over $100 and that is great to see.
