REAL WORLD FILE TRANSFER COMPARISON
We have put the Corsair MP400 NVMe SSD beside a few of the best PCIe 3.0 SSDs in the business for our true to life data testing. In this test, we simply place 15GB files representing music, video, pictures and operating systems onto the target drive. We then copy each file from one place on the target disk to another, recording the time taken for the transfer.
REVIEW ANALYSIS AND FINAL THOUGHTS
QLC NAND flash memory has become mainstream and the MP400 is a decent example of just what it is capable of. The most amusing thing is most probably that 99.9% of the population will never even question the type of memory within the SSD, as they wouldn’t the controller, DRAM buffer and so on. Most simply want to know that this will speed up their everyday computing, it is a decent price, and it’s reliable with a good warranty. And the Corsair MP400 NVMe is just that and then some; it will have very high capacities in only a few short weeks…up to 8TB in fact.
Do you wonder just how much storage this ‘gumstick’ size 8TB might hold? Would you believe about 687 million word document pages? 1.6 million songs? 2.5 million pictures? The Corsair MP400 is available in capacities of 1, 2, 4 and 8TB and reaches speeds up to 3.5GB/s. Its price is decent and the 1TB version is coming very close to that $100US mark… and it has a five year warranty from a company that has built a solid reputation.
