Mach Extreme MX-DS 40GB SSD Review – Benchmarks

1.  Crystal DiskMark Ver. 3.0 (OFill)

This result somewhat shocked us initially as it differed significantly from Mach Xtremes own published specifications for this SSD.  These are excellent scores somewhat consistent of that of most SandForce SF-1200 controlled drives.

2.  ATTO Disk BenchMark V.2.46

blankAs we see here, ATTO pulls the high sequential read and write performance results even closer to the SATA 2.0 limit.  These two methods of evaluation match those most commonly used by manufacturers in determining their SSD specifications.

3.  HDTach Ver. 3.0.4.0

blankAlthough HDTach is famous for pulling the numbers down a bit, its software provides us with a clear depiction of the stability of the solid state drive in the system.  There are a few dips in the chart performance result but, for the most part, it is consistent which is great to see.  In confirming a drives set up in ones system, this is an ideal method of determining whether there are software issues which may be affecting the performance of the SSD.
