CRYSTAL DISK BENCHMARK VER. 8.0.1 x64
Crystal Disk Benchmark is used to measure read and write performance through sampling of random data which is, for the most part, incompressible. Performance is virtually identical, regardless of data sample so we have included only that using random data samples.
THROUGHPUT
IOPS
The toughest benchmark available for solid state drives is AS SSD as it relies solely on incompressible data samples when testing performance. For the most part, AS SSD tests can be considered the ‘worst case scenario’ in obtaining data transfer speeds and many enthusiasts like AS SSD for their needs.
ANVIL STORAGE UTILITIES PROFESSIONAL
Anvil’s Storage Utilities (ASU) are the most complete test bed available for the solid state drive today. The benchmark displays test results for, not only throughput but also, IOPS and Disk Access Times. Not only does it have a preset SSD benchmark, but also, it has included such things as endurance testing and threaded I/O read, write and mixed tests, all of which are very simple to understand and use in our benchmark testing.
TxBench is one of our newly discovered benchmarks that we works much the same as Crystal Diskmark, but with several other features. Advanced load benchmarking can be configured, as well as full drive information and data erasing via secure erase, enhanced secure erase, TRIM and overwriting. AJA VIDEO SYSTEM DISK TEST
The AJA Video Systems Disk Test is relatively new to our testing and tests the transfer speed of video files with different resolutions and Codec.
REPORT SUMMARY AND FINAL THOUGHTS
The SMI SM2320 USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 is a brand new controller to the market and Kingston is the first to show it off with their XS2000 Portable SSD. It is small, lightweight and very fast at 2GB/s read and write speeds, using its own data cable to power the device. We have tested it in a number of devices and operating systems and it works like a charm in Windows, and also, our laptops with Thunderbolt 3, remembering of course that one only achieves performance of 1GB/s when mixing USB 3.2 2×2 and Tbt3.
It is worthy of note that we have a number of systems running the early evaluation release of Windows 11 and this device did not work whatsoever in those systems, and in fact, crashed the system. Hence the reason this is not Windows 11 compatible as of yet. For now though, the Kingston XS2000 is very speedy compact SSD storage at what just may be a decent price point on release.

Thanks. You said “one only achieves performance of 1GB/s when mixing USB 3.2 2×2 and Tbt3”.
Ho to achieve 2 GB/s? I mean, I have tested it on iMac 27-inch (mid 2017) which has Thunderbolt 3 ports and only reaches 1 Gb/s.
UASP stands for USB Attached SCSI and Intel tacked a ‘P’ onto that to make UASP. The name is the hint: it’s not ATA nor SATA and not NVMe, it is …. So CrystalDiskInfo is full of it. Get smartmontools (version 7.3 was just released) but I don’t see anything specific for Silicon Motion in there. So this USB device accepts standard SCSI commands over a UASP transport. And one of those SCSI commands is the ATA PASS-THROUGH (3 variants) which is often used in non-standard ways to tunnel SMART commands to SATA and NVMe devices behind UASP.
