CRYSTAL DISK BENCHMARK VER. 8.0.4 x64
Crystal Disk Benchmark is used to measure read and write performance through sampling of random data which is, for the most part, incompressible. Performance is virtually identical, regardless of data sample so we have included only that using random data samples.
THROUGHPUT
IOPS
TxBench is one of our newly discovered benchmarks that we works much the same as Crystal DiskMark, but with several other features. Advanced load benchmarking can be configured, as well as full drive information and data erasing via secure erase, enhanced secure erase, TRIM and overwriting. ANVIL STORAGE UTILITIES PROFESSIONAL
Anvil’s Storage Utilities (ASU) are the most complete test bed available for the solid state drive today. The benchmark displays test results for, not only throughput but also, IOPS and Disk Access Times. Not only does it have a preset SSD benchmark, but also, it has included such things as endurance testing and threaded I/O read, write and mixed tests, all of which are very simple to understand and use in our benchmark testing.
REPORT SUMMARY AND FINAL THOUGHTS
The ADSATA SE920 was the fastest SSD of its time and long before the EX400U that was just released (reviewed here), as well as the LaCie Rugged SSD Pro5 which will be next up on our test Bench. The reality of such an early release is that its target audience becomes very limited. Let’s face it. If reviewers cannot test it to its maximum capacity, it is just a bit too soon of a release. Don’t get me wrong. There were very limited reviews (Jon @ Tweaktown) that were able to reach 3.8GB/s read, but for the most part, we saw many reviews well below that at the 3.2GB/s mark. Our commitment was to provide a report deserving of what the SE920 is capable of and our new Test Bench capable of such was built only yesterday.
The ADATA SE920 is a USB4 external SSD capable of speeds up to 3.8GB/s which opened the door to faster portable data transfer times. Its 5-year warranty was perfect, albeit the price still a bit high, but it’s build is beyond reproach where it could be fully utilized closed, and if it started to get hot, pushing slightly on the top would expand the SSD case and start the internal cooling fan. We absolutely love that.
