It has been some time since Computex and I definitely owe an apology to Patriot as I happen to find this great little card lying around the office today and definitely deserves a bench or two.
It is the Patriot EP Pro 32GB Class 10 SDHC card and, being a Class 10 card, this is definitely the card for full HD video’s and professional DSLR photography. I know, I know… this place must be a mess to lose a card such as this amongst the clutter right?
The Patriot EP Pro is expected to be available on 16 July 2012 and will be found in capacities of 16, 32, 64 and 128GB. Performance specifications are listed at 90MB/s read and 50MB/s write and this card comes with an untouchable five year warranty.
The EP Pro boasts up to five times the performance of a typical SDHC card and it is only fair that we pull off a quick bench or two to verify performance claims. Let’s take a look at our ATTO Disk Benchmark:
With benchmark results of just under 80MB/s read and 33MB/s write, performance on our Toshiba Z830 laptop is just shy of listed specifications but these speeds are amazing for any card of this size. Lets check out Crystal DiskMark:
CDM confirms what we saw in ATTO and we are seeing some great speeds from this card. Considering it will be available in capacities up to 128GB and this becomes a definite MUST HAVE for many digital enthusiasts. Let’s keep our fingers crossed for some great pricing!
I’d love to see further bench’s on this, things like latency, multi-streamed copies etc.
maybe test it in various uses, camera, tablet etc.
Presently using it in my camera and love it. Unfortunately, because of backlog on SSDs, we may not get to further testing though. Sorry.
