ANVIL STORAGE UTILITIES VER. 1.0.51 RC6

Anvil Storage Utilities is a powerful tool that is designed in to provide a simple means of assessing the read and write performance of a solid state drive.

No surprise here. The USB 3.0 speeds completely smoke USB 2.0. The read and write speeds are excellent as well. Not completely precise, but accruate in terms for the 250MB/s read and 160MB/s write speeds advertised.

CRYSTALDISKMARK X64 VER. 3.0.2f

CrystalDiskMark is a disk benchmark utility that measures performance for sequential and random reads/writes of various sizes for any storage device. It is useful for comparing the speed of both portable and local storage devices.

CDM confirms the Anvil findings. The 4K sequential read speeds are exceptional, whereas the writes are on the low side. Still not bad considering the Magnum is a flash drive, and certainly MUCH faster than any mechanical drive when comparing results. For one of the most popular – the Western Digital Caviar Black series – the Supersonic Magnum doubles its read speed and adds an extra 30% to the writes.

More importantly, CDM presents the advertised speeds set by Patriot, and astoundingly squeezes an additional 50MB/s surplus to the projected 250MB/s!

Not bad but a 64GB SanDisk Extreme got a 782.95 Anvil score on 100% incompressible setting.
