Transcend Announces MTE850 PCIe NVME M.2 Solid State Drive – 2500MB/s Reads and 1100 MB/s Writes

Transcend is announcing its newest solid-state storage product, designated as the MTE850 PCIe NVMe M.2 2280 SSD.  The MTE850 represents Transcend’s first SSD that utilizes the PCIe Gen 3.0 x4 interface, as well as being fully compliant with the NVM Express (NVMe) 1.2 protocol and specifications.  This enables the MTE850 to achieve sequential read speeds of up to 2500MB/s and sequential write speeds of up to 1100MB/s.

The PCIe Gen 3.0 x4 interface combined with the NVMe protocol enables previously unheard of performance that leaves SATA III speeds far behind.  The MTE850 features 3D MLC NAND flash chips, which along with blazing fast speeds offers lower power consumption and superior reliability.  It also utilizes a DDR3 DRAM cache to reduce boot times and load more frequently used files and programs much quicker via SLC caching.

With the purchase of a Transcend SSD, you will also receive access to a free download of their SSD Scope software for drive management.  SSD Scope monitors your drive’s status and health with tools that include View Drive Information, View S.M.A.R.T. Status (for drive health and performance attributes monitoring), Diagnostic Scan, Secure Erase, Firmware Update, TRIM Enable, Health Indicator and System Clone.
