Patriot, Taiwanese producer of high performance computer memory, solid-state drives, consumer flash storage devices, mobile accessories and gaming peripherals, is announcing the addition of a 2TB model to their Ignite performance solid-state drive lineup. Patriot is responding to the ever-growing demand for ever-increasing amounts of storage in consumer PCs. With the Ignite 2TB SSD, users are able to load an entire library of PC games to their system without ever having to unload and reload games as happens when available storage is maxed out.
The 2.5” form factor, SATA III (6.0Gb/s) Ignite series of SSDs was originally launched in January of 2015 with top data transfer speeds, and was first offered in capacities of 480GB and 960GB. Patriot has since added a 240GB version, and now the 2TB version has the capacity to tackle even the most demanding data tasks. Utilizing a Phison S10 controller, the Ignite 2TB offers sequential read speeds of up to 560 MB/s, and sequential write speeds of up to 500 MB/s. The Ignite 2TB is an ideal upgrade for users seeking a complete solution for lack of storage capacity, and a refresh of their PC that can breathe new life into an older system.
According to Les Henry, Patriot’s VP of Engineering, “The 2TB Ignite offers the fast transfer speeds expected of our Ignite line along with the extra capacity required by powers users. These drives are the perfect solution for those users with very large game and video libraries as well as systems being used for cloud storage.”
Patriot’s Ignite 2TB is compatible with Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8, 8,1. and 10, Mac OS X, and Linux operating systems. The purchase of an Ignite SSD also includes a free download of Patriot’s SSD Tool Box. Patriot is backing the Ignite 2TB SSD to the tune of a three-year limited warranty. The Ignite 2TB SSD is anticipated to be available for purchase worldwide in Q4 of 2016. You can view the Patriot press release announcing the Ignite 2TB in its entirety here.
