ZOTAC International, a leading producer of graphics cards and mini PCs, is announcing expansion of its SSD lineup with their new Premium Edition Solid Sate Drives (SSDs) in 240GB and 480GB capacities. The new ZOTAC Premium Edition SSDs offer enhanced endurance and data protection, as well as robust performance.
Both the 240GB and 480GB versions pair a Phison S10 four-channel controller with Toshiba MLC NAND. The 240GB version has a 256MB DDR3 DRAM cache, and is capable of attaining sequential read speeds of (up to) 520MB/s, with sequential write speeds of (up to) 500MB/s. The 480GB version has a 512MB DDR# DRAM cache, and is capable of attaining sequential read speeds of (up to) 550MB/s, with sequential write speeds of (up to) 500MB/s.
ZOTAC’s Premium Edition SSDs offer enhanced data protection features, including End-to-End Data Path Protection, that detects and corrects errors anywhere within the DRAM, controller and NAND. Smart ECC can reconstruct faulty pages when regular ECC checks fail. Smart Refresh monitors the health status of ECC blocks, and intermittently refreshes those blocks to promote improved data retention. Power Failure Protection minimizes the time that data resides in the DRAM cache to reduce the likelihood of data loss due to an unanticipated power interruption. Dynamic Wear Leveling is utilized to ensure that NAND use is spread out over all NAND to extend the SSD’s lifespan.
All ZOTAC SSDs are backed to the tune of a three year limited warranty. You can view the product page for the ZOTAC Premium Edition SSDs here; and you can view the ZOTAC press release announcing the Premium Edition SSDs in its entirety here.
