Toshiba’s Digital Products Division (DPD) is announcing the Toshiba Q Series Pro PC Internal Solid State Drive. The new Q Series Pro is a high performance upgrade for PCs/laptops/Ultrabooks that provides a convenient and reliable method for boosting productivity, and offers the peace of mind of safe storage for all personal data. The Q Series Pro is ideal for users who wish to take their PC’s performance to the next level, including faster boot-up times and snappier overall operation.
The Toshiba Q Series Pro SSDs are great for multi-taskers, avid gamers and graphics professionals by offering an efficient storage solution that consumes far less power than a standard hard drive. For laptop/Ultrabook users, they will quickly discover that they can spend less time worrying about battery life and finding a power outlet, and spend more time working or playing with their laptop or Ultrabook.

Produced in the standard 7mm form factor, the Toshiba Q Series Pro Solid State Drives are very compatible with Ultrabooks, and the upgrade kit even includes a mounting adapter for use with traditional full-height 9.5mm drive bays. The Q Series Pro SSD upgrade kits also come with a free download of simple-to-use migration software to assist with migrating your operating system and data from your existing drive over to your new Q Series Pro SSD.
The SATA 6 GB/s Q Series Pro SSDs are rated for sequential read speeds of up to 552 MB/s and sequential write speeds of up to 501 MB/s, and come with a three-year warranty. They will be offered in capacities of 128GB, 256GB and 512 GB. Pricing on Toshiba’s website lists the 128GB bare drive at $159.99, and the complete upgrade kit for $189.99. The 256GB version bare drive is priced at $309.99, with the complete upgrade kit at $349.99. For the 512GB model, the bare drive is listed at $739.99, with the complete upgrade kit at $759.99. The upgrade kits include a mounting bracket and the migration software download. They are anticipated to begin shipping later this month.
