Toshiba America Electronic Components, Inc. is announcing availability of a new SAS enterprise SSD, designated as the PX04SL series. The PX04SL is geared toward very read-intensive usage scenarios, such as web servers, data warehousing, video-on-demand (VOD) and media streaming.
The PX04SL series are available in both 2TB and 4TB versions, and in both self-encrypting (SED) and non-self-encrypting models. The PX04SL series allows organizations to minimize total cost of ownership (TCO) without sacrificing superior performance. Helping to eliminate bottlenecks, this latest Toshiba SAS SSD offers high-density storage for consistent and efficient data throughput that provides high performance, high reliability and endurance, and ensures maximum application scalability.
According to Jeremy Werner, vice president of SSD and storage solutions marketing for Toshiba America Electronic Components, Inc., “The PX04SL joins our exceptional third-generation of SAS SSDs and leverages Toshiba’s vertical integration and leadership strengths in the growing SSD market.”
The PX04SL series is rated for 0.5 drive writes per day (DWPD) at 100% random workloads, and is also rated for 2,000,000 hours mean time to failure (MTTF). The 12Gb/s dual-port SAS interface can provide up to 1900 MB/s sequential read speeds. Featuring MLC NAND, the PX04SL series carry a 5-year limited warranty.
