Patriot yesterday announced a new member of their Patriot Family in the guise of the PatriotSE SATA III SSD.
The ‘SE” will be ‘SandForce Driven’ and, as its older brother thePyro, will contain the world famous SandForce SF-2281 6Gbps controller.
As we know, the SF-2281 is capable of parallel read and write speeds of over 500MB/s along with IOPS above 85,000 at 4k random write aligned disk access.
The difference between the Pyro and Pyro SE, however, will simply be the NAND flash memory which will now be premium synchronous NAND flash memory. This memory, as we know, allows for greater performance results when working with large amounts of incompressible data, examples being video, music, and photographs.
