LEXAR 5G NAS – PRIVATE CLOUD, 5G AND AI
Hidden inside the Lexar Quality labs we happened upon this interesting storage device; the newest Lexar 5G NAS.
Right off we noticed the memory card slots on the side of the Unit but it was demonstrated and we cannot wait for this to hit the market. It is probably the simplest and most secure NAS to setup, all data quickly accessible from your smartphone app and has very quick facial recognition and AI capabilities for your photo collection.
Fully accessible via 5G network it isn’t only quick, but can also automatically backup photos and videos, has automatic document classification, has facial recognition and automatic grouping, and allows browsing of pictures in maps or calendars vis group or web. Storage ports for the Lexar 5G NAS include CFexpress, SD and USB and the apps will be available in Android, IOS, Windows, and Mac/TV platforms.
LEXAR CFEXPRESS TYPE B CARD
As a professional photographer, I am not alone in my sentiments that the camera industry got caught with their pants down when it came to flash media and storage. Even today, the world’s best camera can be found with yesterdays storage speeds well below 100MB/s when it would be a very small jump to incorporate flash. Imagine forgetting the fear of your camera buffer slowing your shots at a wedding or important event. The Lexar CFexpress Type B Card is a start in the right direction.
Capable of data transfer speeds of 1750MB/s read and 1000MB/s write, this is a media professionals dream. Nikon invested in XQD some time ago and these cards are fully compatible with a simple software upgrade to the camera. This technology uses PCIe 3.0 and NVMe protocol and sustained writes presently sit at 1GB/s.
LEXAR HIGH SPEED MEMORY MODULES
Last up for today are Lexar Memory Modules. Available in 4, 8 and 16GB, these hit speeds of 2400, 2666 and 2933 Mbps.
THE LEXAR TOUR
Our post today would not be complete without a few pictures of our time with Lexar, as well as a big thank you to Huabo Cai, Mike Chen and the Team.
