Kingston Announces Acquisition of IronKey USB Technology and Assets From Imation

Kingston Digital, Inc., the Flash memory division of Kingston Technology Company, Inc., is announcing that it has acquired the USB technology and assets of IronKey™ from Imation Corp. Kingston has been a leader in encrypted portable storage solutions for businesses for over 10 years, when they launched their first DataTraveler encrypted USB Flash drive. IronKey is one of the top competing brands of encrypted USB Flash drive solutions, and has been part of Imation since 2011. Kingston’s acquisition of IronKey creates an even more comprehensive offering of products and services, and shows that Kingston is committed to being a global leader in trusted encrypted storage solutions for mobile data.

Kingston DataTraveler encrypted USB 2Additionally, encryption services leader DataLocker Inc. has purchased the IronKey Enterprise Management Services (EMS) platform, which provides centralized management for encrypted USB drives. DataLocker had previously acquired BlockMaster’s SafeConsole management system. SafeConsole is the solution that Kingston currently uses for its management-ready encrypted USB Flash drives.
