SECURE ERASE
Our next venture was a secure erase which took a bit more knowledge as the SSD needs to be free of partitions in order to be properly erased. In Windows 7, a simple trip to Control Panel/Admin Tools/Computer Management/Storage/Disk Management/ will enable you to right click on the appropriate drive and ‘Delete Volume’
DO NOT delete the volume of ‘C’ Drive. This would not be good.
Once complete, we simply rebooted and the drive was recognized once again. A trip back to Disk Management may be necessary to format and partition the drive for use.
SYSTEM OPTIMIZER
System Optimizer requires the drive to be partitioned and is only the press of a button. If you have just ‘secure erased’ your drive, you will find that this occurs very quickly as the drive was reset in the erase process.
SYSTEM TUNER
If you are not that ‘SSD savy’ you may choose to utilize the SSD Tuner to fine tune your PC. I have done much of that manually and this is noted in the Tuner observations. Alternatively, the most detailed and popular SSD Optimization Guide on the internet was compiled by yours truly and has been read by over a million!
System Information is yet another interesting utility found in the Intel SSD Toolbox.
By 40623 you mean 40823, right?
You caught it! Tx! Every now and then we like to throw a few mistakes out there to confirm that someone is still reading our material eheh.
Seems like a plausible explanation *whistle*
looks great and easy to use, intel at its finest 🙂
