ADATA Technology, Taiwanese manufacturer of premium performance DRAM modules and NAND Flash storage products, is announcing the launch of its enterprise grade SX1000L solid state drive (SSD). This represents ADATA’s first SSD tailored towards server applications, following on the heels of a number of well-established and successful consumer-level SSDs.
ADATA is emphasizing the performance and reliability of the SX1000L, as it takes advantage of ADATA’s expertise in NAND Flash memory technology. The SX1000L offers a mean time between failures (MTBF) of 1,500,000 hours by employing static wear-leveling technology. This provides the long-term reliability required for high density computing applications and heavy load server operations. Available in the 2.5″ standard form factor, the SX1000L is a SATA III, 6 GB/sec SSD featuring the LSI Sandforce SF-2281 controller. Sequential read speeds are stated as 560 MB/sec, and sequential write speeds are as high as 340 MB/sec. Maximum 4K random read and write IOPS are stated as 73,000 and 45,000 respectively.
Enhanced Flash chip sorting, combined with the use of multi-level cell (MLC) NAND Flash memory allows for outstanding sustained performance, lower latency, and superior endurance. Utilizing the SMART command to monitor drive performance, flexible user-defined over-provisioning options, and enhanced power-loss data protection all make the SX1000L unique compared to similar models. The 5-year warranty and long write endurance make the SX1000L extremely suitable for read-centric servers, such as web and VOD (Video on demand) applications.
The SX1000L SSD will be offered in capacities of 100GB and 200Gb. Pricing has not yet been announced. To view ADATA’s press release for the SX1000L, please click here. To see ADATA’s product page(s) for the SX1000L, please click here.
