Intel is announcing its latest enterprise solid-state drives (SSDs) for data centers and cloud computing. The DC P4500 and DC P4600 Series pair a newly-developed Intel controller and unique firmware with Intel 3D NAND to create an all-PCIe solution that provides highly efficient storage and caching. This allows data centers to do more per server, minimize service disruptions and manage at scale efficiently.
The ability to do more per server starts with increased capacity per drive — up to 4TB of PCIe-optimized capacity. The DC P4500 and DC P4600 offer up to 3.3x faster writes than the previous generation, and up to 2x faster reads and mixed read/write workloads. The increased density provided by 3D NAND plus the optimized platform IO equates to massive storage per server scaling.
Intel’s industry-leading reliability assures data continuity to minimize service disruptions. Durable and consistent performance delivers service continuity, while robust PLI allows for high confidence of preventing data loss in the event of an unanticipated power interruption.
The DC P4500 and DC P4600 enable efficient storage management when scaled. Drives can be remotely managed across more device states with any operating system. Combined with advanced serviceability, IT efficiency is significantly increased.
Intel’s SSD DC P4500 Series are designed as mainstream storage, with high performance and massive scalability. The SSD DC P4600 Series are designed as caching and fast storage, accelerating cache tiers and mixed workloads for faster results and increased scalability.
The DC P4500 and P4600 Series feature an all-new 4th generation Intel controller, providing a combination of performance, capacity and scalability for cloud storage. Intel’s all-new intelligent firmware is optimized for cloud applications, and delivers improved QoS, enhanced management capabilities, and new NVMe features. Intel’s 3D NAND, at 384Gb per die, provides industry-leading capacity scaling and highly efficient data volumes.
