Corsair Announces Force Series MP500 M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD – Their Fastest Ever Series of SSDs!

Corsair is announcing immediate availability of their newest flash storage product, designated as the Force Series MP500 range of M.2 NVMe PCIe SSDs.  With sequential read speeds of up to 3000 MB/s and sequential write speeds of up to 2400 MB/s, the Force Series MP500 represents Corsair’s fastest-ever solid state storage devices.  This level of performance is some 5 X faster than what can be achieved via a standard SATA 6 Gb/s interface, and does so in an ultra-compact form factor.

This is great! But it also sucks! My Razer Blade has only one M.2 slot. Which means only one choice for available NVMe SSDs of 1 TB capacity that is any good. Sheeesh. There are many many new NVMe SSDs in M.2 form factor, but not big enough for what I need, anyway. It looks like a great drive. If anyone knows of a 1tb NVME SSD M.2 other than the Samsung that isn’t an OEM unit, do tell.

Hey, Samsung is releasing their 2TB 960 Pro M.2 on January 2nd if that helps you at all. They also have their 1 TB option releasing that day. If you dont want to spend the money on the pro drive they also have the 960 evo 1tb which is available now if you can find it in stock somewhere. They appear to have sold out fast.

You’re out of luck. Samsung is leader in m2 high cap.
all i can find is :
      Crucial MX300 1TB M.2
      Intel SSD Pro 1TB M.2
      Plextor SSD M8Pe 1TB M.2
      all slow and crappy.

I have to agree to disagree with you on all but the Plextor M.2. A description of “crappy” is not justified. I get it. Samsung fan boys are out in force but the price tags are also out there in force. The Crucial is not even a nvme drive so to include that one is, well I don’t know why you would include it to be honest.

I do agree with you about the Intel drive. It is inexpensive and bare above a SATA 3 in all but the read performance.
