ADATA is announcing the Ultimate SU700 SATAIII (6Gb/s) SSD featuring 3D TLC NAND. The Ultimate SU700 is being marketed as a value-oriented drive, yet with included data integrity and performance-boosting features. This 2.5” x 7mm drive features agile error correction, virtual parity recovery, 256-bit AES encryption and WriteBoost SLC caching.
The Ultimate SU700 pairs Micron 3D TLC NAND with a Maxiotek (rebranded JMicron) MK8115 NAND controller to attain sequential read speeds of up to 560MB/s and sequential write speeds of up to 520MB/s. Though not stated in the specifications on the SU700’s product page, ADATA is claiming random 4K read speeds of up to 80,000 IOPS.
The SU700’s performance remains stable even when incurring heavy data loads thanks to the Maxiotek controller and ADATA-created custom firmware that supports WriteBooster mode. This is accomplished by utilizing an SLC caching (pSLC) state that allows for consistent throughput. The firmware monitors SSD workloads to provide an optimum balance of performance, wear prevention and low power consumption.
ADATA has always prided itself on adhering to rigorous testing and qualification, enabling a 2,000,000 hours Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) rating. ADATA is backing the Ultimate SU700 with a three-year limited warranty.
The Ultimate SU700 is being offered in capacities of 120GB, 240GB, 480GB and 960GB. Pricing has not yet been announced. For more information, you can visit the Ultimate SU700 product page here.
