ADATA Technology, a leading producer of NAND Flash devices and performance DRAM modules, is announcing three new external solid state drives (SSDs), designated as the SE730, SC660 and SV620. The SE730 represents the most compact USB Type-C connected external SSD on the market, and the SC660 and SV620 are priced as more affordable external storage options. All three are compatible with Windows, Mac OS and Android operating systems, making them ideal external storage options for the majority of notebooks, ultrabooks, media boxes, gaming consoles and, of course, dekstops.
The SE730 weighs a mere 33 grams (less than a golf ball), and fits easily into the palm of your hand. The sandblasted metallic finish enables it to qualify under the official IEC IP68 dust and water proof qualifications, and also offers military-grade shock-proofing. The SE730 utilizes MLC NAND, and is capable of read/write transfer speeds of up to 500MB/s. It is initially being offered in a capacity of 250GB, in both red and gold enclosures.
The SC660 also boasts shock-resistant construction in an extremely thin (9.6mm) enclosure. It is rated for read/write transfer speeds of up to 410MB/s. The SV620 is also shock-resistant with similar read/write performance. The SV620 is housed in an enclosure with raised edges to protect form scratching surfaces it may be placed on. It features a bright blue activity LED activity light. The SC660 and SV620 are being offered in 240GB and 480GB capacities. Both of these models provide the performance, durability and efficiency of an SSD, at an excellent cost-to-performance ration.
All of these latest ADATA external SSDs are backed by a three-year limited warranty. Pricing has not yet been released. You can view the SE730 product page here; and the SV620 product page here. You can read the ADATA press release announcing their latest offerings in its entirety here.
