The SSD Review Computex Taipei Update: SuperTalent Showcases SandForce Driven Flash Drive

Having announced the only USB3 Flash Drive SSD at Computex Taipei, SuperTalent was no stranger to innovation and trust us when we tell you that this flash drive is pure SSD through and through.

Although we brought the news to you first at CES in January,  the RC8 was initially believed to contain 3Xnm NAND flash memory, however, the release was delayed as SuperTalent thought 25nm might be a better choice.  If you are looking for the absolute fastest flash drive, look no further!

The RC8 is based on the heart and sole of SandForces rise to fame, the SATA 3 SF-1200 processor which is single handedly responsible for SandForces quick rise to fame in the SSD arena.

As much as one might think this a USB 3 only product, that’s not the case as the RC8 opens up the all to familiar bottleneck we see in typical flash drives and screams along even in USB 2.0 systems.

blankOur thanks also goes out to both SuperTalent and CEEDO as they enabled us to do something we had yet to see at any trade shows, this being the actual benchmarking of SSDs at the booth. Through SuperTalents SuperCrypt USB3 SSD flash drive and Ceedos portable virtual operating sysem, we were able to install and run several of our benchmark programs right from the USB 3 flash drive.
