ADATA Displays New Retail mSATA SSDs and SX910 SATA 3 Update – Computex 2012 Update

If I were to have a personal favorite SSD form factor it would just have to be the mSATA SSD.  At under 10gm and 1/3 the size of a business card, the performance this device is capable of is reminiscent of that of a worker ant that can lift 20 times its weight.

Needless to say,  learning of ADATAs new retail mSATA SSDs was somewhat of an event for me as I have cherished getting my hands on pretty much every mSATA SSD available to date and putting each through the paces.

XPG SX300 SATA 3 MSATA SSD

The XPG SX300 mSATA will be available in capacities of 64, 128 and 256GB and boast performance of 550MB/s read and 520MB/s write with 85,000 IOPS. The SX300 is driven by a SF-2281 processor and ADATA states that they are available to offer their mSATA solutions in typical binary capacities through use of only the best NAND flash memory available.  This means an additional 7% of available capacity to the consumer with lightning fast LSI SandForce speeds.

PREMIER PRO SP300 MSATA SSD

The SP300 is a SATA 2 mSATA SSD and based on the SF-2141 processor.  It is available in capacities of 24, 32 and 64GB and is envisioned as an excellent choice as a caching SSD, fully compatible with Intel’s SRT Technology.  Performance is listed as 280MB/s read and 260MB/s write with 46,000 IOPS at low 4k write disk access.

SX910 SATA 3 SSD

The SX910 is expected to succeed the SX900 and utilizing smaller 19nm NAND flash memory in July of 2012.  It contains the LSI SandForce SF-2281 processor and specifications display performance of 550MB/s read and 520MB/s write with 85,000 IOPS.  Unique to this SSD is that we are moving to smaller memory yet ADATA is advertising the new product with a standard five year warranty.
