Corsair, a global producer of high-performance PC hardware components, is annoucning the release of their new Force Series LS solid-state drives (SSDs). The Force Series LS line of SSDs offer consumers and users a more economical means to upgrade a desktop PC or notebook to the proven speed and reliability of an SSD.
The Force Series LS SSDs utilize a Phison 6 Gb/s controller and Toshiba NAND flash memory. The Force Series LS SSDs achieve transfer speeds of up to 555 MB/s reads and 535 MB/s writes. The new drives offer garbage collection, support for the TRIM command , plus S.M.A.R.T. commands for drive health monitoring. Advanced static and dynamic wear-leveling algorithms are utilized to extend the SSD’s lifespan.
The Force Series LS SSDs come in a 7mm thick form factor, which will fit any desktop or notebook PC with a standard 2.5″ or 3.5″ drive bay. The SATAIII, 6 GB/s Force Series LS SSDs are being offered in capacities of 60GB, 120Gb and 240GB. Corsair’s popular SSD Toolbox software is offered as a free download to purchasers of the Force Series LS SSDs.
