here do this for fun....lets see how your drive looks!

elevate an cmd prompt to admin status
    type in:
    winsat disk

this runs a more detailed WEI assessment just like it did for your results above, but focuses on the disk performance. awesome stuff! if you need help with how to do it i will give you more detailed instructions. you get good info with this! by far the best "bench" out there and its built right into windows

I am still tweeking my system a little bit at a time. because I'm trying to start as a E-tailor and be very active on this board I have been very busy. Some important notes about my system. I am useing this drive on ASUS N53JQ-A1 > Multimedia Entertainment note book. I have a core I7 740qm cpu. This note book has a Mobile Intel® HM55 Express Chipset. This notebook has 4 sodimm slots. I have 16gb of ram and asus says on there site that 16gb is the max but several bench marking programs say that this machine can handle 32gb of ram (side note I checked about getting 8gb chips you can get 8gb of 1333.mz but they are not a consumer product as of yet 1 8gb so-dimm chip cost between 600-1600 a chip depending on the speed way out of my price range at the moment.) it has a NVIDIA® GeForce® GT 425M with 1GB DDR3 VRAM dx11 I do not have any dx11 games but it plays all the dx10 and lower games that I have increabble at maxxed out setting and zero problems this gpu is 3d glass capable but asus does not give you a screen that will support that you have to have an external monitor with at least 120mh refresh rate and buy the glass and acssaries. The paging file has been turned off I also did a reg tweek that will never make a page file as well as turning it off in the advanced sysstem settings

I still have a lot of programs and drivers to load

I can have 10 plus windows opened up and do not really see any slow down

My note book has side discharge of the hot air it use to be very warm when my hand would go buy it I have not played any games yet but the fan almost never goes on now.

large pdf files open in a very reasable time frame now they open like they never did before

    more latter

March 20 1:30 am turned on my computer to work on my web site and system crashed 2nd time only 39 days of use. thinking about trying to get a refund. If thats not possible I will rma back to ocz because mybe there is a defect. I can't afford to waste time by reinstalling os every 15 days or so. just got her up and running and I'm restalling driver and update. I did do this right before the failer I noticed my processor score was 6.7 wei and it should be higher. so I ran sandra and noticed that my I7 740qm only showed up as a dual core. I rememberer doing this tweek a while ago msconfig - boot tab -Advanced options- then check the box number of processer - then drag down to numer of 4. so I undid that tweek and restarted the system and bam the system crashed. I also did a tweek to prevent core-parking but I'm not sure what cause my wei score to go down 6-7 points and to only show up a a dual core in sandra

Hi cosmo. The new 1.32 firmware that we are testing for the Sandforce drives will have many fixes and may be a possible solution for you. Just a quick glint of the light at the end of that bsod tunnel for you there.

do you work for ocz or sand force? did you guy's figure out how to update the firmware with out having to take the drive and put it on a sepret computer runnin the os? I think that this new firmware update from asus will fix the problem because I had the same thing happen with a regular hard drive it would hang on the start up and cause a starting error and blue screen once. If you can help it would be great I have a Asus N53-jp notebook with 16gb of so dimm and a 5 series mobile chip set

no I don't. I simply use the P**S outta' their products. lol

As an avid user with unbiased opinions based on real life usage, I have also been given the opportunity to beta test firmware and the upcoming Vertex 3 drive. I'm not able to share specifics about the number or types of fixes that are due shortly but can say that they are going to be major. Especially in regards to the issues seen with Laptops from a bios implementation/compatibility standpoint. Many get caught up in the frenzy of the 25nm nand debacle lately, and now the Spektech nand quality smear campaign, with too much emphasis on blaming the mfgrs themselves. It really boils down to the controller mfgrs compatibility and Sandforce simply has more issues than most. Not saying that this is your issue at all, but if that bios flash doesn't fix the problem just keep in mind that a newer SSD firmware may do the trick if all else fails. Shuld be within 2 weeks or so for release and will be posted at OCZ support forums.

As for the need to run firmware updates from another drive?.. that has been fixed for some time now with the use of the toolbox. Just need to avoid the Intel RST10 series drivers as they block communication/detection of the drive and AHCI mode is recommended. Good Luck
