OCZ Vertex 4 will likely not be SandForce based

I see that OCZ is moving AWAY from sandforce this is the good thing. Vertex 4 will NOT be sandforce based.

LOL.. don't count on that Bill. OCZ is no different than any of the other guys in that respect.

If enough money is involved?.. they'll get in bed with anyone. That's just the way this indistury is right now and even Intel is not adverse to doing the same thing when there's enough of that "poontang" to go around. lol

Bill - I am inclined to agree. Over on the mainstream side OCZ never held the performance crown. That's where the real money is. Gamers and enthusiasts are just a tiny drop in the bucket.

    We're a little off subject.

Only time will tell who gets the new crown. Keeping it will be the hardest part since every mfgr will keep upping the bar as time marches on.

well, this thread is revived, and Bill was pretty spot on with the prediction of no SF V4!

But, i also agree with groberts, under the right circumstances any mfr will do what they have to

If enough money is involved?.. they'll get in bed with anyone.
lol that sounds just like me! *whistles innocently*

afaik Indilinx had run into problems developing their JetStream sata3 controller or something to that affect...next thing ya know all the competition sata3 controllers were already hitting the shelves thus adding salt to the wound. Then outta nowhere Ocz scoops them up for $12 million I believe. Not sure if Everest is a completed jetstream or a different controller all together...I'm sure someone here prolly knows the answer *cough*Les*cough*.
